My client’s main activity is to produce reviews on a vast range of products. They can all be searched by categories on their website, and in order to better distinguish and characterize these categories, they make use of extensive icon sets, all in the same style. This is the camera icons set, one of the groups I designed for them that I like the best.

Icons are needed for every category and family of products. The style chosen was the elegant flat style that began its prominence in the early 10’s.

I produced nearly half of all the product categories’ icons currently online on my clients website, but the set on display here was particularly interesting to me as I am a photography enthusiast and own a few cameras myself.

For every category I had to choose the models of cameras from different producers that would represent the whole category. I privileged both the very well known cameras, like Sony’s and Canon’s, but also gave a place to the more aesthetically pleasing ones, like Fujifilm’s cameras and my own personal favourites.

As this was merely a category icon, I covered each that the consumer association needed and then produced a few extra ones to complete the set.
